Pact is a nonprofit collective taking responsibility for our industry’s waste.

The beauty and wellness industry generates over 120 billion packages each year. And because of how they’re designed, only a fraction actually get recycled.

Pact is made up of members across the industry who are working collaboratively towards circular solutions.

Here’s what happens to the empties:

Mechanical Recycling

Upcycling the material into another product or downcycling into a lower-value item.

Molecular Recyling

Breaking down plastics into their original building blocks, allowing it to be rebuilt into a new material.

Waste-to-energy

Packaging that cannot be used in any other way is incinerated to generate energy or fuel.
